inspiring sincerity and creativity in sacramento, beyond serving a damn good cuppa joe!
thank you, javalounge. here, i can drink excellent coffee without the usual oppressive pretentiousness of profit-driven competitors. the ingredients will be socially conscious. at night, i can listen to the best music in the area and from around the country for dirt cheap. and when i part with my dollar, i know it's going toward the young, awesome family that owns the place. just go there and see what i mean. - mary , posted 06/18/08

The Neighborhood Coffee Shop
Yup, this is my neighborhood cup of coffee. I think Temple’s got slightly better coffee, but I love grabbing a cup and sippin’ it out front while watching folks come in to get tattooed at the shop next door. I think Kristina wanted Starbucks. If that’s what you are after, this place is going to disappoint. Much love to the Java lounge. - Capitol P , posted 03/16/08

Terrible Service.
The Owner Jake is rude and told me to get the F out of his business for having one of his competitors coffee. My friend was in there buying a coffee and now we will never go to that establishment again. - Kristina , posted 02/29/08

Good place so see local bands if you're underage. - Hannah , posted 10/01/07

Awesome Atmosphere
The java lounge has pretty good coffee, but what I really like about the place is its unique atmosphere. As you approach the lounge, you notice that the entire outside of the building is painted in mural. The murals are bold, brightly colored, and kinda freaky looking. Once you enter, you'll notice the art gallery on the right and left walls. This week, its a gallery of tighty-whitey underwear themed art. Last month, there was a gallery of 8-bit artwork. The 4 members of the staff here are always engaging, interesting, and unique. I usually get drip coffee, and they have a selection of fair trade coffees from Old Soul roasters. I love this place. - John , posted 09/23/07
