Spider Robinson has been hailed as "the new Robert Heinlein" for years. I'd never read anything of his 'til Variable Star, but now I can't wait to pick up his other works. I'm a devout Heinlein fan, and I was understandably anxious when I heard about this posthumous collaboration. One read through, and my fears are demolished. It even managed to be better the second time around. Robinson stays true to the GrandMaster's signature style while still managing to write in his own voice.
